The Power of Contentment
Sermon Series Preached at Graham St. Church of Christ, Seattle, Washington, July 10-13, 2014
Have you ever wondered how things would be if God did not care? Where would you be? Would you even be here? Would anyone be here?
In today’s scripture reading, Paul speaks of the need for contentment. We belong to an infinitely and supernaturally resourceful God. But yet, many Christians struggle with experiencing contentment. Paul said he had learned the secret… Have we? Can we say, in whatever situation I am, I am content?
There are many ideas as to how much God is involved in the world. Is He working now? If He is, why does He allow evil? We can know of His providential care for us. God is looking out for our physical and spiritual welfare. God is working by maintaining all things and bringing about the fulfillment of His eternal purpose.
